Default Terk vhf-uhf antenna install, please help!!

Hi & Thanks in advance for any possible help.
I just bought a Terk ctv55 antenna and after reading the instructions it says, mounting the antenna on alum siding or any metal surface will greatly degrade reception. Well i am trying to mount on a r.v. and they have alum siding and roof but was told by the salesman that he has sold them to other rv,s , so my question is if i put it on a mast how high does it have to be above the vehicle and do i have to rubber mount the mast or what do you suggest?
thanks
Brent

Take it back, use it for a club and hit the salesman 10 times for selling you that thing

then like the Mortal Kombat game series, FINISH HIM by impaling him with that antenna!

is there any way you can mount 3/4" plywood onto your RV and then mount the antenna on that piece of plywood??

He could do that, but the TV55 would still be too close to the RV's aluminum siding, and the antenna would still be a piece of cr@p.

Jim's right: A TV55 is only good for "point-of-purchase batting practice."
