The breakup is either a weak signal, multipath, or overload.. More then likely it is a weak signal or mulitpath.. In analog, it would be a poor image, in digital (think 1s and 0s) it is loss of video....
Can you go to Tvfool.com and post your pre and post transition reports? Also what outdoor antenna do you have? Where is it aimed? Is there an amplifier?

Like I tried to project up above, there is no magic box that will fix the issues, they are "normal" dropouts with digital tv.. That is why we need your tvfool data, it will help us predict what you need to do, to get reliable, breakup free, tv..... Digital tv is all or nothing, the picture does NOT degrade like analog, it just tears or drops out, making antennas and amps being spec'ed for the location even more important....
Am I more clear this time?

Buy a bigger antenna. Buy an amplifier.

See if this helps: Why doesn't my DTV converter box pick up the same stations in digital that I get in analog?
