Default Need advice on an external antenna

Can someone tell me about external tv antennas? I am wanting to pick up some local channels. I am about 8-10 miles from town in the country. I have heard that the Winegard 7084P is good but I don't know if that is what I should get. How would I mount it? I have heard of chimney mounts... Also would I need a pre-amp to go with it? Also, I noticed some of these antennas turn??? Would I need a device to do that also?

Thanks in advance.

Please post your zip code or Lat/Long instead of listing your antennaweb results as they are very hard to read and confusing.
