The 3 stations that you are concerned with will all be broadcasting on VHF-Hi after Feb 17, 2009. WMBB will move back to channel 13; WJGH will revert to channel 7; WPGX will keep its current digital assignment of channel 9.

I'll leave it to the antenna experts to offer their opinions on whether the CM 4228 provides sufficient gain on those channels at the distances involved: 45.7, 43.4 and 65.1 miles.

Gee, Brian...if you want to make your antenna obsolete-proof, you are going to need not only a Channel Master 4228 or an AntennasDirect XG-91, but also a high-band yagi like a Winegard YA-1713 and a preamplifier like a Channel Master Titan 7777 to make your system work as it should.

Default Single antenna solution

Tiger bangs is there a uhf/vhf antenna that could do the job by itself since i'm on a limited budget? Thanks!

Default Correction

The last station is 37.7 miles away not 65.1; my mistake. Which combo antenna would best suit my needs?

* violet - vhf WPGX-DT 28.1 FOX PANAMA CITY FL 100 37.7 ??

Default Success!!

Thanks for the help everyone. I did some research and decided to go with the Radio Shack V-90 antenna in the attic. The hdtvprimer tables proved useful when comparing strength on the 3 channels I was attempting to acquire. I have 65-77 signal strength on WMBB-DT 13.1 ABC and WJHG-DT 7.1 NBC. I even have 25 signal strength on WPGX-DT 28.1 FOX which was a suprise. I just ordered the CM 7777 to gurantee success; I wonder if it could bring the 25 up to 75?? Thanks again.

If you have a long run from the attic to the TV, then yes the pre-amp should bring up that 25 a bit. Your best bet would be to roof mount the antenna. The pre-amp can't amplify what's not there.
