Default Poor Reception Using Dish PVR 721

Hello Forum,

I just bought the Panasonic CT-30WC14 wide screen high def ready TV with two analog tuners built into it. I am using the dish PVR 721 receiver (not high definition) to watch the TV with but the reception is bad on either tuner - it does not have a very sharp picture. I'm using either the antenna out or S-video out from the PVR which I can toggle with the TV's remote control. Either input shows a slightly blurry picture which is most noticeable with small print on the screen. I had a much sharper picture when I had the PVR hooked up to my Sanyo 25 inch standard (4 by 3) analog TV. My VCR even produces a bad picture on this TV using the composite RCA input. But my DVD player produces a beautiful picture using the same input. I've noticed other people on this forum have similar complaints with their wide screen but what causes this problem?

My main question would be what is the difference between the analog tuner in my new wide screen TV and the analog tuner that was in my Sanyo 25 inch? It seems like all analog tuners would produce the same picture. Does the signal pass through different circuitry?

Thanks much in advance,
Roy

PS - I have ordered the dish PVR 921 which should be arriving shortly. It outputs high definition both through the dish and over the air using an antenna. I hope this makes a difference.

Call a local Retailer. And, we'll check your receiver in the store for free. If you can reach your LNBF, we'll check it for free too!!!!
