Default No local digital signal, but good analog

Why can't I receive a local digital signal, when I get a good analog signal? They use the same tower for both signals & I am less than 5 miles away. I am able to receive all of the other local digital signals (although the FOX signal is slow to lock & breaks up), but I can't receive the local PAX network. It is located @ lattitude 38 degree 1'59", longitude 85 degree 45'17". The other locals are 38 degree 21' to 22', longitude 85 degree 49' to 50'.

The antennaweb site shows the compass location for the locals that I receive as 344 degrees to 347 degrees with the PAX station as 310 degrees.

There are a few factors why this might be happening. One of them certainly could be the compass locations. At my location, CBS-DT is located at 298 degrees, while ABC-DT is at 299 degrees, and I have trouble locking onto the ABC signal.

Another reason could be the power of the signal. At my location, CBS-DT and WPIX-DT are located at the same place (Empire State Building), but until recently, WPIX's transmission power was extremely low, a fraction of what CBS-DT's was. As a result, WPIX was almost non-existent.

Another reason is that the signal could be bouncing off surroundng structures, such as bulidings, making a clean, strong lock-on difficult.

It could be the transmission power. I don't have any idea about that. Maybe I could call the station & get an answer, but then again I am less than 5 miles away. This tower is located in a mainly residential area, no tall buildings that I know of.

Click
here and type in your zip code. It will show you the stations that are broadcasting in your area. It also shows the transmission power for some of the stations (the "more information" link). You might be able to find out what it is without having to call the station......

I have already been to that site. It does not list their transmission power. I am waiting for the engineer to call me back.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I keep getting an error message. Thanks for any help. I am trying to find out the power output for WTGS Fox, Savannah, Ga. I have paid $7 for 100,000 watts but it said that they were at 1000 kw. I know they are not and just need some answers. One other thing...where do I go to get an answer at this page? http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?call=WTGS-DT#10000
