need help finding right antenna

Default need help finding right antenna

Im wanting to purchase an antenna to recieve ota hidef and standard signals in my area....ZIP 47138 in Indiana.. I think I will need it for vhf and uhf. Right now I have a Terk tv2 indoor antenna hooked to a samsund ln-r408d LCD TV.. The antenna I have now picks up a few signals but looks grainy and cuts out sometimes..Thank you for your help. Any reccomendations appreciated..

It looks like your target is the Louisville stations, and that you are about 25 miles away. You have all-UHF channels at the moment, with only WHAS-DT in any question of mofing back to VHF after the 2009 changeover. Your least expensive bet would be a Channel Master 4228 mounted on the roof, which is very powerful on UHF stations, and will also do well on Channel 11. Other choices are to consider an all-channel antenna like a Channel Master Crossfire 3679 or a Winegard HD-7082p, bot of whih are larger and more expensive than the 4228, but are superior on VHF stations. thanks... would the channel master 4228 also pick up WAVE channel 3. It says its vhf? Thanks again for your help

It will pick up WAVE-DT, the digital channel, which is on UHF channel 47, but not the actual WAVE channel 3. If you really need analog reception in addition to digital, you should look at the all-channel antennas like the Crossfite 3679 or the Winegard HD 7082P
