Default Channel Master 4228 installation

I am planning to buy a channel master 4228. I live at zip code 18088. I think I should get about 5 channels according to antennaweb.org. I do not plan on buying a rotator at this time because I believe I will get the 5 channels and am happy with them. Does anyone have any general recommendations on the 4228 or ensuring that I will get decent reception? Also, I have a house approximately 20 feet away that is 1 story higher than my house and I do not plan on putting the antenna higher than that house. The antenna will be at least 20 feet high. Any one have any suggestions regarding this as well? Thanks.

Default info?

OK - we know what you want to do and how you want to do it. The question is CAN you do it? Some questions/observations.
1.) Like all antennas - the 4228 gets gain at the price of acceptance angle - essentially it is more narowly focused that a lot of other antennas. Are all your five stations of interst located on a common or near common ( within a few degrees) compass heading? if not - you'll need a rotor.
2.) The taller house - is it between you and the transmiters? If it is - you'll need to go higher.
3.) Are all your stations running their DTV/HDTV side at full licensed power or as STA's? Call their engineering dept.'s and find out.
4.) What kind of range are you looking at?
5.) Except for low band VHF - there probably isn't a better antenna available than the 4228. But this does bring up the question - are any of you stations of interest transmiting in low band VHF for their digital side? Remember - chanel 4or 5 or 6 analog may call themselves this on the digital side - but are probably ( not certainly) sending their digital signal out somewhere in the UHF range. It's also worth mentioning that at very close range - the 4228 may be a chalenge to orient/aim.
6.) You get five points for not putting your antenna under the roof.
7.) Post more info and you'll probably get some advice.

Check this link: http://www.hdtvpub.com/local/viewOTA...y_Northampton/
for OTA reception reports for areas near you. You have made a good choice in antenna.
