Question How do you transfer contacts from iPhone to sim card?

I am planning on selling my iPhone 4 but most of my contacts are on the iPhone and not on the sim card. How do I transfer all of my contacts from my iPhone to my sim card?

Don't you sync you phone to your mac? All contact info is stored in your Address Book app on you mac. Any new iphone will take the data from your address book when you first sync it.

You can use a free app called SIManager available on Cydia (iSpazio repo), it will help you copy iPhone contacts to the SIM card.

Why don't just put all your contacts on Gmail? And then on new phone just pull up from Gmail, its more easier...

I don't think you can because the iPhone stores information on its on-board memory. Your best bet would either upload them to your computer and then transfer the contacts to the new phone or to take it to the AT&T store and have them transfer contacts from one phone to the other.

1. The iPhone can only work with SIM made (coded) for the iPhone. SIM from other phones will not work (though an iPhone SIM can work in an older phone).

2. The iPhone doesn't read nor write to the SIM and has no option to import from a SIM.

Best bet (what I did) was obtain the the software iPhone Transfer has that will allow you to transfer contacts from iPhone to sim card. The software they have has their own address book reader to bring contacts into their own proprietary address book on the computer. Once in, it has an export feature.

I did all that back when I first bought two iPhones for my wife and I when the first generation iPhone came out.

You can know more about how to transfer contacts from iPhone to sim card by visiting this:

If your iPhone data are indeed gone, I would suggest you try using iTunes in order to restore your iPhone data (including contacts)from the last time you last synced your iPhone with your iTunes. Here is about how to restore contacts on iPhone.
Here are two easy methods to recover contacts from old iPhone:

One. Recover data from iPhone via iTunes.
1. Connect your iPhone with iTunes on computer
2. Right-click or control-click on the iPhone icon under iDevice on iTunes
3. Select "Restore from Backup" from the given options
4. After it finishes, your data are back to your iPhone
Important Note: This works only if you have made a backup for your data on iTunes.

Two. Recover iPhone Data without Backup by using third party iPhone Contacts Recovery Software
If you have no backup for your data, you can download iPhone data recovery software in order to overcome the problem and restore iPhone data loss. Still you have not recovered lost data from iPhone, some on-line applications also available which can be helpful in restoring precious data details, probably will be able to find the solution to some extent.

Hope it helps.
