Default AC for my mancave questions

I been reading some reviews on LG's saying they only last 2-3 yrs. I am putting it in my mancave and will want to have it set to cut on about 230 weekdays when I am at work and weekends I will just turn it on in the mornings or have it come on at about noon. I was thinking bout just getting an LG for my 18x21(378 sq ft ) mancave but most have said they had to replace after 2-3 yrs. Most of the new prices were between 130-219 for the 6000-10000 btu ones. So what do you guys think? I was thinking if i did i would need to get a 5 yr warranty if they offer but then depending on how much that is, I might can just get a better brand but I wonder does it depend on the brand for how long it may last?

Also, weekdays it will only run about 2 hrs, maybe 3. Weekends probably 5 hrs sometimes

WalMart has some good deals on other brands. See: Air Conditioners at Wally World.

i dont see wehre they are really any cheaper. I need at least 8,000 btus but leaning toward at least 10 and only ones i see cheaper or around same price range as the LG's are the GEs. But i might stay away from an LG not sure

The LG price seemed like a good deal, thus any other brand comparably priced seemed like a good deal also. So I reasoned that if you were worried about LG then a GE or other brand comparison near the same price would be a good deal also. Didn't read your post a requiring better brand at lower price.

i mean i dont know, GE might be better than Lg. Guess i will have to read some GE reviews. I will also consider how much difference overall for at least a 10,000 btu. We have an 11,000 btu in our break room and its about the size of my cave actually and it cools that very nicely.

might be slightly smaller
