Default HELP Sony STRDG1000

Hello all,

I have had this reciever for about a year and a half and have had perfect work from it, but this morning I went to turn it on using my harmony remote and everything else turned on as usual but not the receiver. Ok I must have not had it pointed right and tried that to no aveil, then I thought maybe power on signals were for some reason getting blitzed by each other and reconfigured the remote, nope still not working. I went over and hit the main power button and turned it off (it's in standby mode) and then turned it back on and tried the remote again, worked perfect! Now here's the catch, after hitting the button on the receiver I can turn it on and off 100 times in a row no problem, but if I leave it sit for more than an hour it reverts to the same problem and wont turn on by remote, I eaven tried the factory remote and still no go! So if you guy's have any suggestions or have gone through this yourself please help, I really dont want to send it to them to get it fixed if it's something easy.

Unplug it from the wall or power strip for about an hour. Plug it back in and voila, your problem should be gone.

Thanks I will give this a shot! Does it have to do with the power supply in the receiver?? Just curious to what is wrong. thanks again.

Could me an internal memory or firmware issue. In either case, this solution usually corrects the malfunction.

Time to call Sony...Sorry to say maybe even look to replace that receiver with a more reliable brand. If it is not under warranty, you will be amazed at how much it would cost to repair, and then only to possibly have the same problem in the future (this has been historically how things have gone for Sony receivers exhibiting problems)
