Default Marantz SR8500 Auto setup...Problem??

I set up my SR8500 today and I tried using the auto setup. For some reason, everytime it begins to check for speaker distance it stops and an error mesage comes on "Speaker setup error". So I checked the manual and it says that the speakers are not setup correct when that message pops up. I checked all my speakers over and over...so I can't continue with the auto setup, not sure why it does this. Let me know if any of you have the same problem or know of a fix for this? I m running speaker A and B, also using a Y adapter for the two built in subs.

Thanks,

Any info on this would be of great help.

maybe the y adapter is causing the line voltage to drop too low and thats causing the error, try it without the y and see if that works. ive always found when troubleshooting you should go to the basics.

I suspected that but didn't think it would be the problem...but that does make sense. I will try that this afternoon. If that is the problem, how should I compensate for the other sub, should I adjust them as one, and then plug in the Y adapter after?

Thanks!!

It didn't work. I unhooked the Y adapter all together, and still nothing. When I finally pulled out the LFE wire, it worked. I find this strange as I had the Elite 56TXi hooked the same way and the auto setup worked great! Any ideas as to why my built in subs are causing problems for the Marantz auto setup??
