Default Audio Output switching on Onkyo 605

Hi guys,
I've got a PS3 and Xbox360, for blue ray and games respectively, hooked up to an Onkyo 605 receiver via HDMI cables. The receiver outputs to Onkyo HT240 speaker setup and to a Panasonic PE700U via HDMI output.

The system works great, except at night when my wife goes to bed. Then the noise has to go down or off. I've got some kick ass headphones and a headphone amp wich accepts audio composite cable input. What would the best way be to switch to the headphones? Can the amp do it with a touch of a button from the controller (does it have audio output selectability)? I know I can do it through the Xbox or PS3 individually, but if I wanted to switch between the 2 I'd have to get up!!!! and change the cable.
Thanks for your help.
Yours,
Sam
ps: I'm also looking around to buy an extra satellite speaker for the HT240's as currently they're 6.1 but my system is really set up for a 7.1. Does anyone know of a retailer that sells individual components from speaker systems?

Just plug your headphones in without the amp first, turn off the speakers on the front panel (the buttons that are labeled A and B) then listen away. IF the volume is not high enough then add the headphone amp but I don't think it will be necessary.

The speaker on/off buttons are on the front panel of the receiver and not on the remote.
