Default Direct tv model HR20 100...1080P??

I am purchasing a new 1080P Panasonic tv. I have the HR20 100 and want to know if it will display broadcast in full 1080P. I cant seem to get an answer from DTV. I keep hearing that no networks broadcast in 1080P, but I hear some will be soon.

I believe they broadcast in 1080i and 720p. The best buy guy told me that 1080p is really only on the hd-dvd or blueray players.

There is no such thing as broadcast 1080p so it will provide 720p or 1080i just like your antenna and the TV will deinterlace it.

Default 1080p on Directv

Only certain program is broadcasted in 1080p not all. In the program guide it will says which program right next to it. For example right now in the pay-per-view section, one of X-men Wolfverine origine is being broadcast in HD 1080p.

The only 1080p content is either HD-DVD (extinct), Blu-ray or some PPV is being streamed in 1080p. There is no 1080p broadcast tv - cable, sat, or ota. It is either 720p or 1080i. Your tv will interlace 1080i into 1080p and display it that way.
