If you're receiving an HD signal, can you route it through an old fashioned VCR and tape it on VHS tape? If so, does it play from the tape as HD?

Nope, can't be done.
Among other reasons, your VHS machine cannot accept a HD signal; nor could it output a HD signal. Best you could do is send the signal over composite or S-video (at which point it is a 480i SD signal) and record it that way. |
