Default New Onkyo TX-SR605, what Listening Mode?

I just received my new Sr605. Set it up last night. Have been reading the manual today.
My question is , is there a preferred setting for the surround and listening mode when watching DVD or Sat HD TV.
Seems there are lots of listening modes to go through DD, DTS .
So can anyone tell me if there is a general setting that fits best here for movies ?
Thank you

I found the answer on this forum search.
But one more thing I am still trying to figure out.
If a DVD is made in a certain audio format or a Sat HD movie is being broadcast with a certain audio format to it , is there a way for the receiver to just decode this built in program and it will automatically go to that ? I did not see anything in the owners manual about this.

I have the 705, but I assume the answer is the same for your 605.
Go into setup, then go to 5. Listening mode preset.
Pick the source (have to do it for each connected input)
Then you can pick the default for each signal type the receiver supports.

Also, try hitting the input button twice (or three times, can't remember). This way it will always show the present format on the front panel.

Wait, I mean the info button, not the input button.
