OK - not exactly HD or even digital...
But, I have a question about hooking up my turntable to the receiver. I have a Technics turntable that I'd like to hook up to a Sony STR-DE597 receiver - this is what I have: http://reviews.cnet.com/av-receivers...-30788123.html I've hooked up the turntable to the MD/TAPE RCA inputs. The problem is you have to crank the volume up all the way to to get any noticeable sound. Is there some sort of in-line amp I might need? Any thing basic I'm missing?

You need a phono preamp. There are many out there, and some can be quite expensive. They used to be built in to old receivers/amplifiers, but with the "demise" of vinyl the "phono" input on today's equipment has disappeared on all but the most expensive equipment. Just Google "phono preamp," and you should be good to go.
