What is HD?

A number of computers come with blu ray disc drives and some also contain HDTV digital tuners but they all seem to lack software that will allow MPEG 2 video to be recorded to the blu ray disc directly or from the hard drive. Software allowing HDTV recording only to the hard drive is available as is software allowing burning to regular DVDs. Also software allowing HD video from camcorders to be burned to blu ray is available.
Is there software available that will allow HDTV MPEG 2 video to be recorded to the blu ray disc directly or from the hard drive and that would allow playback of the disc on a stand alone blu ray player. I would assume that HD MPEG 2 video could be saved as a data file but that would take forever to burn and then would have to be re-imported to be played back. EddieM |
