I bought a Directv Hi Def TV DVR recorder thru my installer. He sold me the huges receiver at a lower price than I could get it thru Best Buy so I bought it from him. Hooked it up to my new LG 52' DLP
that I bought from CostCo online and everything worked great. That is, for 2 days. Then started getting a bad picture on 1080i using HDMI. Called the installer and he suggested unhooking the HDMI and hook up the component cables. Great. That worked good. That lasted about 58 days and then lost the blue color. I thought it might be the tv so since I also had cable I did a split picture using Directv & cable. I could see the difference immediately. Perfect picture with cable. Called the installer. Now here's the kicker. Don't ever buy thru an installer. Its a bitch trying to get any service. These guys don't take back anything. If you buy a Tivo-Receiver buy thru Best Buy and don't forget to spend a couple dollars more for warranty-insurance. The Hughes Receivers are not perfected. You should buy only thru reputable dealers so if anything goes wrong you can exchange the item immediately. I think I'm out about $850.00. Also.. Don't buy using E-Bay. I learned my lesson the hard way.
