Question hdmi issues

I am using a hdmi switch labeled as a "digi media". Sticker on the bottom lists model number "hds-21". This switch is a popular list on e-bay. Can not seem to identify the manufacturer for support.
Video sources are a Hughes hd20 DirecTV receiver and a Samsung dvd-vr325 combo dvd/vcr that upconverts everything to 1080i on hdmi.
Monitor is a viewsonic 3250w.
Direct connect hdmi from any source to TV works fine. Running through hdmi switch causes loss of sound from ANY source and dvds give hdcp error message. Switching sources on the TV is a pain (scroll through them) even with good universal remote. If I don't find a way to make this easier my wife is going to kill me. After spending a fortune on all hdmi components I REALY want to get this working. Any suggestions?

HDCP is a copy right protection circiut. sounds as though the switcher is not HDCP compliant and will not handle digital audio.

Talking

This a common problem in the switching world. It may be cheap but
not up to SPEC!

Unhappy claim

Box CLAIMS to be "HDCP" compliant, but no data available as to what version and as I mentioned, know way to contact the manufacturer.
