I've read a lot of stuff on the 'net, but I still don't think I fully understand the true difference between HD Ready and HD.
If I hook up an XBOX 360 to my HD Ready TV, is the signal in HD, or does it need to go through some sort of HD tuner? Some articles seem to suggest that if your TV is HD Ready, no input is truly digital w/o a tuner, while others seem to suggest that only TV signals need it. |

I'm pretty sure it will look the same on HD-ready and HD-built in TVs. As far as I know, the only advantage of HD-built in TVs is that you don't need to get a tuner for over-the-air TV broadcasts. For cable, satellite, and video games, I think both of these types of TVs are on equal ground.

first off do u get the premium or core? the core doesnt have HD cables the premium does. Simply hook up cables then turn on xbox360 and switch from 480 to 720 or 1080I whatever your tv is.
XBOX360 looks awsome in HD on my Panasonic 61" rear projection lcd HDTV!

A full blown HDTV has an integral ATSC digital tuner. HD-Ready is ready to add an external ATSC tuner. These tune OTA and digital cable. External devices like Gameboxes use digital video connections, and don't go thru the tuner at all.
