Default DENON Owners Club Thread .... Join In

This thread has been created to gather all the DENON Owners to discuss their AVR's, BDP's etc. Come onboard and post your Model number and your impressions. Do you have any questions ?? Maybe you can provide some answers to others inquiries.
Looking to go Denon, and have any questions, post them and I'm sure some one will respond shortly with an answer.

Hey Rizz,

I recently picked up the AVR-4310CI. I was looking at the 3311 but it doesn't have the EXT. IN (analog inputs). The 4311 has been released (or wasnt when I was buying).

I even tried a Pioneer Elite SC-35 but took it back to BB because it doesn't have assignable inputs!

I am happy with the 4310 so far. I replaced the 4806CI with the 4310, I did lose some horsepower but, with my small HT roo, it's not bad.

The 4310 is a nice receiver, but the new 4311 has so many new options and one of the best is the access to Internet radio, I actually find myself listening to RUSSIAN Rock amongst many other things. And the ability to do 3D ( which I have no use for....at least not now....LOL)

Call me cheap or poor but I just replaced a Denon AVR-1706 with the AVR-1911. Seems to work fine other than me learning exactly how it operates via HDMI vs the mostly all analog 1706.

I'm using it with 5.1 at the moment. Was pleasantly surprised that it picked up quite a few HD radio stations though that had little to do with the purchase, just another option.

One problem I do have is that I have my PC running through it to my DLP via HDMI and when I turn off the receiver it shuts down my PC apparently. Drove me crazy the first couple of days because thought my PC had decided to just shut itself off for no reason. Still looking for the cure for that issue. Short term fix is to leave the receiver on. Must be in the manual somewhere!

All of the 11 series are nicely equipped. Shoot off a PM to www.batpigworld.com he's an authority on Denon and translating their manuals and a member of several AV forums

I've seen his post on another "AV" forum and will ask my questions AFTER I peruse the manual more. I've got a Sony NX810 coming (the reason I upgraded AVR's) so I'm sure I'll have more questions for him before I'm done.

Thanks!

Hey, Rizz

I am debating the 3311ci or the 4311ci. If you dont mind can I have your rational for going 3311ci instead of the 4311ci. First hand is probably money(lol), but would like your pro's and con's. Thanks

the 4311 will have analog (EXT IN) that the 3311 does not. Other than lower watts per channel, they are quite similar. I nearly bought the 3311 but I use the 7.1 channel analog output from my Oppo BD player.

I have a 3805, the last model without HDMI. It's been a great receiver and I still see no reason to replace it. While I would like to have HDMI, I can use the external inputs for lossless and high res audio from a Panasonic BD55 Blu-ray player and a Denon 2900 DVD-A/SACD player.

Actually the reason was the 3311 was the first unit released and it had all the features I was interested in. The 4311 was released almost 3 mos+ later, the money was not a major factor. I am ecstatic with it's performance and capabilities. And haven't researched the differences, but if you have any questions I would suggwst PMing DAVIDJSCHENK he purchased the 4311 and got it early in Oct. I got my 3311 in May.
