Post Comparison of HD media players..

The tables include WDTV LIVE, POPCORNHOUR, SEAGATE, PATRIOT AND NETGEAR. I didn't see mention of the Asus O!Play and only vague Apple TV killer references. There is a whole new crop coming out of China, so these tables will not last long.

Nice to see a feature table to compare various media players on the market... the formats and issues. Looks like Popcorn hour comes out on top.. but it's a bit pricey.

Post are media players making HTPC's obsolite?

Not to be outdone... ViewSonic has entered the fray under $100 with the VMP70 (holiday pricing)

An the latest offering from Asus is a Wi-Fi equipped O!Play Air HDP-R3 at not too much more, It has HDMI 1.3, composite audio/video and optical digital audio outputs and has one USB 2.0, one eSATA/USB2.0 combo port, one RJ-45 LAN port and a card reader. O!Play AIR HDP-R3 comes with 802.11n WiFi, as well as a card reader for CF, SD/MMC, Memory Sticks (MS/MS Duo) cards. and supports MPEG1/2/4, H.264, VC-1, RM/RMVB video formats in most containers, including popular avi, mkv, wmv, mp4, mov and some others. It also supports most audio formats.
