In DFW four channels have HD news: KXAS (NBC), WFAA (ABC), KTVT (CBS), and KTXA (Independent owned by CBS). Fox and the spanish stations are still SD.

We get WRAL news here in Wilmington. They own the CBS affiliate here in Wilmington, WILM, which doesn't have a news division. The good thing about WRAL is that it just isn't HD in the studio, but HD with their in-the-field reports. Nothing like a car wreck in HD. WRAL was the first station in the country with HD local news.

No KNBC in HD? I find that odd considering NBC owns both it and WNBC, with WNBC already broadcasting in HD.

FTSG (Fox Television Stations Group) is the lone holdout in New York. Both WNYW and WWOR are still broadcasting in SD. I suppose one could factor in the extra cost for equipping both studios. On the other side, WPIX is the newest in HD, and it shows because all of their field reports are in 4:3 SD with blue pillars (match overlay design). All of the others either provide the reports in HD or offer them in 16:9 SD.

Half of the locals are in HD, but what really sucks is that none of the major network news are in HD, or at least not here in the SF area.

I currently receive locals in HD OTA only. Picture quality is sooo nice and no complaints except for occasional dropped signals (depending on weather). Sometimes this forces me to switch to SD. Just checked Dish website. Memphis will get HD locals in June. That is fantastic! With our HD locals coming in June plus the addition of 22 new HD channels, I am very satisfied with Dish service.

WESH(NBC), WFTV(ABC), and WRDQ(ABC Sister Station) are. My CBS(WKMG) is stetch-o-vision, and the WOFL(Fox) is 4:3. all network shows are in HD of course though
