Dirty Jobs in HD / Discovery Channel Question
With my service (Comcast), if a show is going to be in HD, there is an HD logo that appears next to show when going through the programming guide (to see what time a show comes on or get show info).
The logo doesn't always appear, even if the show is indeed in HD (meaning, a show could be in HD, but the logo won't actually show on the guide / show info). However, everytime the logo has been there, the show has been in HD. Recently, the logo has appeared on the Dirty Jobs show info (I love this show), but the kicker...it's appearing on a non HD channel (which it has never done before). For example, the Discovery channel where I live is 47 (standard def), but that isn't an HD channel. The Discovery HD Theater channel is 776. I briefly saw on the official Dirty Jobs forum (at Discovery Channel), the shows for this season are in HD. So, here's my question... Is there a general (not Discovery HD Theater) Discovery HD station? So far, I haven't found any new HD stations and don't understand why the logo would show up on a non HD channel. Just curious if anyone knows something about this.

Well from what I've been seeing they are getting desperate for more "Dirty jobs" maybe their fan base is falling therefore taking off HD? Not saying it's for sure, just a possibility.

On Dish Network there are both a Discovery HD Theater and Discovery HD. Yes two HD channels with different programming.
