Spartacus: gods of the arena
The second season of spartacus recently started. I just watched the first 2 episodes via netflix streaming. First two episodes are excellent! Just as bloody and decadent as season one. This season is actually a prequel to first season as the main char from first season is recovering from cancer treatment. I am looking forward in seeing how the story lines for the chars (batiatus, crixxus, etc) develop.

I was told this is not actually season 2, rather a fill in for the original Spartacus' cancer issues. Season 2 has been delayed and a 2nd Spartacus has been chosen due to the complications of the disease. I hope it keeps close, as the first season is incredible.

Due to the main char's illness, it is a prequel to the first season. It has been very good so far, focusing on the rise of the house of batiatus, crixxus and other prominent chars from the first season.

The first season was insane.. I have yet to watch this Gods of the Arena. I will wait until i can watch them all at once..
From what I gather, the second season is underway now. They re-casted Spartacus, and began filming.. I hope the second season is as brutal as the first.. From what I read, all the people that were killed, or presumed to be dead in the last episode, may not be.. Some of them may have survived barely.

Very sad to see Andy Whitfield lost his battle with cancer. He was a great Spartacus...seems like he was a great husband and father too.

Right, I am disappointed also. He was a remarkable person and added
to the show immensely. I believe what you were referring to was Spartacus, Blood and Sand. Gods of the Arena was a great followup to B&S. Hopefully there will be more. |

It was too bad that the original actor died of cancer. Condolences to the family. but the series proves promising and I still would want to watch it on my LED TV.
