Cass, thanks for making this a sticky. I hope it will be a reminder to us all just how unimportant this format war is in the grand scheme of things!

I enjoyed Sam, batting him around for his blu blindness and he always took it stride. He always had a humorous remark and the bananas! Sam, I miss you!

Stephen,
I am sorry for you loss and my heart goes out to you and all your familiy for the grief you must go through.

I'm am sorry for your loss. At least he is not in pain anymore though. He's watching us all in Heaven. He will definitely be missed around here. He was a wonderful asset to this forum.

One sunny Sunday morning, may 2006.A Scot"s man knocked on Sam"s door...the door opened and it was Stephen who answered the door...the Scot"s man looked him in the eye and said...HAVE I MISSED YOU SURPRISE 50th BIRTHDAY BASH THEN "LOON"?.

That was my 1st meeting with this man...a man who"s friendship for the past few years was solid as you can be in friendship,he was unique,he was shy,but his sense of humour, dry wit was fantastic,a thing to behold.

The last time i spoke to him, just after xmas...he had me crying, crying with laughter...and that was a blessing to me,that our last conversation ended with laughter.

What a tribute this forum is...people from all over the world...sent money for the HD player that was sent to him...

Thank you Pauline,Dale,Ricky,Jess and SAM...for letting me in to your life"s.

My thoughts are also with Stephen"s mam,a Scottish lassie who came from a place not far from were i live.

Good bye "LOON"...Peace In The Valley.

Sorry to hear the news. Rest in peace Samcan. I will certainly miss reading your posts. We had some exchanges of humor, never serious, and usually about Elvis...ha ha ! It was a pleasure.

I lost my dad to cancer a little over 10yrs. ago. Everytime I hear Johnny Cash I think of him. Everytime I hear Elvis, I'm sure to think of you. It was the avatar that intuitvely said to me you where cool...it was your being that made you cool. I'll miss you mate !

God Bless and Keep You Sam.

My condolences to your family, you've given them (and us here at HDF) a most prescious gift...first your presence, than your memory. Both terrific presents.

Peace friend

Dale, Thank you for taking the time and thinking about your fathers friends at this sorrowful time. It just goes to show that you share your fathers joy for life and friendship. We will all miss our good buddy Sam. Me would like to point out the many evenings that Sam made me chuckle, think, ponder, and at times,,,roll with laughter. In me heart, Sam will never be gone! Chin up Dale. And in the days, months and years to follow,,,if you have thoughts you wish to share about your father, please feel free to share them with his/your friends on the HD FORUM.
