I'd be happy to share any of the findings if anyone cares. Again CR rates Plasma very highly, especially the Panasonic sets.

Consumer Reports recommendations are primarily based on long term operation, not picture quality.

I would not suggest CR for display recommendations.

PQ is one of their criteria, though, for their evaluations. While I wasn't surprised they had Maxent singled out as the hightest rated "lesser" name brand I WAS surprised ILO was the other no name brand they recommended. Olevia and Viewsonic were way down the list (although they only listed the LT32HVE of the Olevias). They had both the 2750 and 3250 Viewsonics way down. Then on the NBC local news in NY they had their consumer good person doing a report on the Consumer Report TV edition. He then had a tech guy start talking and the techie pointed right to an Olevia (I know because I have one and know the badge) and said why it was not a better choice ("can't see faces during a sporting event". Thank God I don't "look" at faces but the ball! Bottom line is I think most of us are happy we spent half of what a Sony costs and love our Olevias, Maxents, Viewsonics, Westinghouses, etc. But, of course, Sony & Panasonic did dominate their ratings.
