Default HDMI switch, extender solutions available

November 2, 2005 Norcross, Ga.-

Octava Inc., specialists in HDMI solutions, announced the release of HDMI products for home theater use. Increased popularity of “all digital” connections such HDMI, and DVI has increased demand for HDMI switching and HDMI extensions. To satisfy this need, Octava has released the HDS21 HDMI switch, HDS421 switch and HDE HDMI extender.

HDS21 is a 2x1 HDMI switcher. It allows end users to easily select between 2 HDMI sources. Channel selection is controlled by either a manual selection button or by a remote control (included). The HDS21 is low power and can be powered directly from the HDMI source in most cases. A 9VDV power adapter is included for optional powering from the mains power.

HDS41 is a 4x1 HDMI switcher. Functionally it is identical to the HDS21 but with up to 4 HDMI sources available.

HDE is a HDMI extender to be used in installations where long cables are placed before the HD monitor. The HDE utilizes adaptive equalization to correct and compensate for any cable loss and degradations incurred by the cables. The HDE is well suited for projector install where long cables are often involved. The HDE is low power and can be powered directly from the HDMI source in most cases. A 9VDV power adapter is included for optional powering from the mains power.

All products can be connected to DVI-D also simply by using a DVI-D to HDMI cable or adapter.
