Kostyshak, Daniel

of Vestal: Daniel Kostyshak, 53, passed away at Lourdes Hospital on Sunday September 2, 2012 after a brief illness. Daniel was predeceased by his mother (Geraldine Kostyshak) and his wife (Rhonda Hillhouse Kostyshak). He is survived by his father Edward Kostyshak of Binghamton, his brother William Kostyshak of Rochester, NY, and his sister Daria Brown of McLean, VA. Daniel grew up in Dearborn Heights, MI and was a graduate of the United States Military Academy class of 1980. During his service in the United States Army, he earned the expert infantryman badge, parachutist badge, air assault badge and ranger tab before retiring with the rank of Captain. Upon leaving military service, Daniel attained an MBA from the University of South Carolina and a Masters in Information Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He opened his own Marketing and Advertising Consulting company "Kostyshak and Associates" in the Binghamton area where he continued to work up to his hospitalization. The family wishes to thank the staff of Lourdes Hospital Intensive Care Unit and the Danielle House for their compassionate care during this difficult time. Private services were held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider contributions in Daniel's memory to the ICU Department at Lourdes Hospital via Lourdes Hospital Foundation, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905 and the Danielle House, 160 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905.

This is his business:
113 Kostyshak Rd, Binghamton, NY 13903
(607) 797-3707

I can't call. I won't call. Someone else needs to. If this is him...I suggest we raise some funds to open up that guestbook on the obituary.

Man that is sad. Well now we know where he got his online name from. That's sucks if this is true. I believe this must be true. RIP Kosty. My prayers go out to his family. Very sad.

This is so sad if true. My heart goes out to his family. Knowing Kosty, I pretty much knew this is what happened. It was so unlike him not to post, even from a hospital bed. I'll gladly pitch in to open up the guestbook. Maybe Tower call call his business to verify (since she seems to know him better personally), if she doesn't already know, but if not, then I can.

This is terribly sad news, kosty was always an avid poster and friend of the forum.

Thanks.

Someone should call. I'm too much of a crybaby to do so. I really hope this isn't him.

I never got the impression that Kosty was married though...clinging to some hope that maybe this is one helluva coincidence.

I'm still in shock here. I tried looking up what we think was his company. But it doesn't look like they had a website. I'm with Silverado. I hope it isn't Kosty. But it would have to be one hell of a coincidence. Kosty was very private with what he wanted to share with us. I know he said he had prior military. I'm guessing it must be him. I'm just wondering why he didn't just mention he was ill again. Unless it came on after he stopped posting. Either way I'm pretty sad. We had some heated debates. But we also had some good hearted PMs.

His IP address does check out as being from Binghampton, so yeah it would have to be one heck of a coincidence if it's not him.

This is a sad day for HDF, as well as for the other HD forums that he frequented. He was always respectful and civil to everyone and went out of his way to help people and answer questions. Also like yourself, although we did have a lot of back and forth debates, it was all in good "sporting" fun, and we exchanged numerous PMs as well and considered each other as friends. I will certainly miss him.

Wow, I've been reading his posts since before I even found HDF... Always appreciated his presence on AVS and then here. So sad to hear this news. RIP Kosty.

Kosty was a great guy, and a valuable member. He will sorely be missed.

RIP my friend.

If it can be determined that this is kosty (it sure seems like it) I will restore the guest book for a year myself. Please verify for me.

Hate to see our members leave us this way.
