2011 ValueElectronic's HD shootout LIVE internet Broadcast June/2011

Hi Guys and Gals, I just want to remind everyone of this year's (2011) HiDef Shootout, to be held at Robert's store in Scarsdale, NY in late June. Those wishing to be present at the shootout will need to contact Robert, once the actual date has been determined, as seating will be limited. The shootout will also be made available OnLine on both days. (Saturday & Sunday). The web address and logon info will be posted as soon as they are confirmed.

The Shootout will present this years newest displays supplied by the leading manufacturers. Once again it will be a completely unbiased assessment of all the panels represented. The sets displayed will be connected via identical power supplies, connectors and cabling, etc. to create a level playing ground.

The Shootout will present this years newest displays will be calibrated by D-Nice (Dwayne), EDDISCUS( Ed Johnson) and Kevin Miller of TweakMyTv and others. Joel Silver one of the founders of ISF (video of last years shootout) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6kc_...eature=related will be broadcasting via Skype, again and updating us on the lastest from the ISF

Factory reps from Panasonic, Samsung, LG and Sony (? Toshiba, Sharp ?) will present their panels, and make a presentation explaining their features and latest developments.

The Online setup will allow viewers to submit questions which they will try to respond to and answer in realtime.

Be sure to check back to this thread from time to time for updates, either Robert, or I will be updating periodically when Robert advises or makes new information available.

There will be Factory reps from Panasonic, Samsung, LG and Sony who will present their panels and explain their technology and R&D in progress. They will discuss where they are today and where they will be going in the future with their display panels, and possibly how they are dealing with issues currently making themsleves known to Calibrators as they begin picking them apart. Hopefully there will be broadcast individuals on-hand, to maybe advise where they will be going in regard to HD and 3D.

Kevin Miller and Dwayne will discuss their findings when they calibrate this years assortment of Panels (Plasma / LCD / LED)
They will go over their findings and results. The Online (Internet) setup will allow viewers to submit questions which they will try to respond to and answer in realtime.

Be sure to check back to this thread from time to time for updates, I or Robert Zohn, will be updating periodically when new info and confirmations are made available.
I will be there and photographing the event, and those photos will be exclusively posted here at HDF or Roberts Site or TweakmyTV site.

I'll have the list of flat panels in the next week and the actual event date.

Please contribute to this thread with questions, comments and suggestions for things you want us to do at the shoot-out event.

How about a 4k display?

I thought we would limit the event to consumer products, but those 4k panels look very beautiful. Maybe next year if one of the premium manufacturers launch one in the consumer market we'll have one in our shoot-out event.

Have you had a chance to see and/or adjust one yourself?

A few months ago I was ISF level one and level two trained by Joel Silver. The class was held at Panasonic USA headquarters and I worked on a 85" VX200, but no 4k resolution panels.... yet.

I have enjoyed seeing several at NAB.

Nah, I'm a die-hard LED guy, sorry. Robert offered me a great deal on a 500M and I passed and I'm still a little leery of the 929 because of the full glass frt panel. Reflect-a-vision is not for me.
