Quicktime 7 HD Clips Now Available for Mac

"Quicktime 7 for Windows Coming Soon."

What I want to know is WHEN?!?!

Anyway, for those of you with a Mac and the new OS 10.4 Tiger, you can download QT7 now and check out the downloadable HD trailers and streaming trailers now. I only found 3 dloadable 1080P trailers and can't see them until the Windows version comes out.

The ones I most wanted to see are the space shuttle Discovery and Kingdom of Heaven trailers, but they're streaming only and not 1080P. More like 1280 or maybe a little less.

The ones that are 1080P are Batman Begins, a BBC Demo Video and the Serenity trailer. Serenity is based on a cancelled sci-fi show from a few years ago called Firefly.

I think people on another forum are trying ways to play them on their Windows based PCs. I'm going to have a go at getting them to play on mine

. I hope QT7 for Windows is coming within the next few days...

If you find a way to make it work with XP(SP2), let us know.

I hope an official Windows version will be available very soon.

I tried it....Could only get sound but i cant get any video using zoom player. I also tried windvd but i get a green screen.

Quicktime for windows may be comming out sooner than expected. If you try to download quicktime6.5, you cant.

it seems like apple has taken quicktime 6.5 off their servers,
i expect a week or so before we can get version 7.

Thats what im using with zoom player....It doesnt work, gotta wait till QT7 comes out or someone finds a solution. I also tried converting the .mov to avi but the file size was going to be about 16gb lol.

any quicktime player wont work...the problem is that the quicktime 6 codec wont read it...only quicktime 7 codecs will...
but under my theory, there are two ways to view it:
1. wait for quicktime 7 for windows
2. get a mac and watch it...(mac mini perhaps?)

Ok and what about ol good VLC player?
QT 7 is only container which use MPEG 4 codek version H.264
Anothers player can use it too.

hawaj, you have a good concept, but the problem is that quicktime 7 has a different version of the H.264 codec. or the video files just use a some sort of protection limiting its playback through qt7

These boys from army made it for you 4 years ago and you can still download from their ftp. And there is not only one

I already have those 4-5 space shuttle clips you referenced, but I was wanting to see how well QT7 does with this subject. It may be one of the exact same as what I already have, but I was curious as to how well Quicktime 7 renders the video.

I also already have the Batman Begins trailer, at least the one from the Superbowl, but again wanted to compare it to this QT7 version, and also to see if it is the very latest trailer. There is a brand new trailer out there now.

With these compresion stuff it always depend on how well it is compresed by creators. When they made DVD with movies (I read it just today

) they made like 3 diferent compressed versions to findout which one fits the best with evry diferent movie. Is kinda alchemy
