Compiling a KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF dvd list

EXCITING! Hi all. I have a question for everyone reading this that probably will be a help to every other member. I am seeking to have perhaps 20 "INCREDIBLE BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF DVDs".

Most everyone has their favorite dvd that they use to show off their home theater system. PLEASE reply with YOUR favorite 1, 2 or 3 movies. At the end of this thread we will have an AWESOME list. Mine is the Star Wars DVD that has the "Pod Races" scene. The visual content AND sound are super. Never fails to amaze people that never have seen or heard a good system. So please leave your input. This will be great!

3 Sock blowing dvd's would have to be:

1. Hot Fuzz (Bass, bass, bass....did I mention bass)
2. Transformers (Transformations)
3. 300 (Fast/slow graphic fights)

For a real "knock your socks off" experience, it's gotta be on BD or HD DVD.

But for DVD...

Jurassic Park has to be added to the list.

1. Starship Troopers (Bugs and body parts go flying)
2. Underworld (Vampires and werewolves at war)
3. Twister, the 1996 one (Tornadoes up close and personal)

I agree. Also X-Men the last stand has pretty good PQ and 6.1 DTS ES.

That's what I was going to say. This one can literally knock your socks off!

One theater I saw this in, the bass was so high and the audio so good (odd cause it was an OLD theater), I really thought the theater itself was going to fall down around us. Oddly enough, it was probably the best movie experience I've ever had - at least it was the most exciting.

These are my personal blow-people-away scenes:

Opening cannon exchange in Master and Commander
The pair of artillery barrage scene in Band of Brothers' "Bastogne" episode
Saving Private Ryan opening sequence and ending sequence - the tank rumbling up the bombed out city street is amazing

There are plenty of HD DVD's I've seen that have awesome scenes. but the above scenese are my personal favorites.

Oh, the U571 depth-charging scenese are really excellent as well.
