A lock doesn't make life more difficult for honest people!
If you compare DRM to a lock in the door of your house, then you wouldn't have the key to that lock but the construction firm would, and you would have to call them if you wanted to get in...
Oh, and if they should happen do go bankrupt, your house, the house you payed for, would never unlock its doors again...
(You may now continue with that comparison and say that house or DRM content would not have been bought but in fact only be rented, but why are there video stores where you really can rent movies for a much lower price?!)

Ok. I've tested a lot of video codecs few days ago. The best was Nero Digital AVC (not Nero Digital ASP). But you need very good CPU to decode movie.

VP7 is also good, but it has laggy decoder even on best CPUs.

Also, Xvid and VP6 are good, but if you encode some very-good-quality video, you'll loose details.

DivX is most crappy codec for HDTV. I have Saving Rian movie and my DVD is much better than this DivX.

WMV9 is also crap. It's too blurry too.

So, I've choosed Nero Digital AVC for me...

And you used the same bit rate settings for all these tests I'm assuming?! 99% of the people that make blanket satements like 'MP3 sucks' or 'WMV9 is blurry' don't know how to encode a movie correctly.

And what do you think? You think I used WMV with bitrate 1 Mbps and AVC with 7 Mbps to compare?

I've comaped with 5.7 Mbps bitrate.

I have two new PC print magazines lying around which support Leha's comparison. They both rate the codecs (from best to worst): NeroDigital -> some other H264 codec -> XviD -> DivX and WMV9

Files recorded from channel "3SAT" I can rename to mpg and burn without problem

other files as example from channel "Kabel1" N O T accepted ( read (codec) problem)
