Hmmmm, seems like they're really dropped the ball on the PQ of the BD release. Makes me wonder if it's worth holding off for a re-release

Didn't Sony do that with the Stranger than Fiction re-release? Apparently there was no discernable difference at all between that and the lossless PCM audio.

I agree. Seems like they could have used a better track than that.

With that said, I believe all these "issues" will not be noticed by the majority of the consumers.

Different soundtracks demand different streams.

With TDK, apparently we are getting little more than a dts core.

It will sound fine. Just fine. The PQ will probably be fine to.

But it probably could have sounded bombastic with more data, and looked better with less tinkerage.

But, I digress until it releases...........

It depends on the master. If the studio recorded it as 16bit the BD would be better off being 16bit. If the movie was 24bit, I am not sure why Warner Home Video went with a 16bit.
