Arrow Hulk Blu-ray Smashes Standard Def

Quote:
The visual effects artists who brought The Incredible Hulk to life showed off some of their work to a select group of journalists invited to the Rhythm & Hues studio in Marina Del Rey, Calif. The Hulk DVD and Blu-ray Disc street Oct. 21, and the artists behind the film’s visual wonders were sensitive about its hi-def exhibition.

Visual effects producer and supervisor Kurt Williams said that fans could pick any frame from the Incredible Hulk Blu-ray Disc and observe top-quality images.

“I will say people are becoming more and more sensitive to the ability in Blu-ray to stop and start,” Williams said. “That was a challenge for us, especially with [director] Louis [Leterrier] and Marvel [Studios]. It was very important that from frame one to the end frame of this movie that you could stop anywhere you want and it’s real.”

I know why the DVD will outsell the Blu-ray 5-1 or so. It will be very good and less expensive and I don't blame people for buying the DVD. What needs to happen is more people need to own bigger screen HDTV's, that is where the premium Blu-ray price is really worth the cost.

Chris
So instead of buying a Blu-Ray over a SD DVD for maybe 4-8 dollars more, you want them to spend several thousands of dollars to justify the 4-8 dollar upgrade?

Perhaps I read your post wrong, but thats what I got out of it...

This is the average consumer, not an enthusiast were talking about... Be happy they are even buying an HDTV let alone a 50" plus HDTV..

I certainly didn't say anything close to that, but if you want to claim that is what I meant, you are free to do so but you are clearly wrong.

You are a riot Chris, leave it to you to get my morning laugh

To sum it all up:
I can see why the dvd will sell more than blu, because its cheaper, what people need to do is own a bigger screen HDTV, that will justify the upgrade over sd dvd....

Nice job of changing what I stated, I never said people need to do that. If Blu-ray is going to gain on DVD, what needs to happen is people need to own bigger displays, that is different than stating people should buy bigger displays. I stated I understand why people are buying the DVD, never once saying they should buy the Blu-ray. I have always accepted DVD is very good and a significant percentage are always going to be happy with DVD. I personally find bigger screens and Blu-ray worth the cost, but I don't claim anybody else should do the same.

You can try a third time with the same drivel, but if you can't understand what I stated, I won't bother further with you.

Chris is the perfect example of a politician mase. Myself, Stew, Bruce, Lee, kamspy, and many others have proven Chris wrong time and time again, but he has very rarely ever admitted to being wrong. I have given up trying to prove he is wrong because he hardly ever truly believes he's wrong. I have worked with several people like this and they usually do not last too long in the workplace.

Huh?

They need to own them, but don't need to buy them? How are they supposed to own them unless they buy them? Are you suggesting we start telling our friends and family to steal TVs? Or are you offering to play Santa this year or something?
