Default Resident Evil: Degeneration Headed to Blu-ray

Quote:
Sometime in December or at the latest January, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the first Resident Evil all-CGI movie on Blu-ray Disc, day-and-date with DVD and PSP.

Sony describes what will be the fourth Resident Evil film as follows:

The "Umbrella Incident" that took place in Raccoon City was ended with the eradication of the deadly virus by a missile attack ordered by the government. As its operations were suspended on a global scale, Umbrella Corporation stock plummeted. This serious blow to the business giant resulted in its complete dissolution.

7 years later, at an airport somewhere in the United States. An ordinary autumn afternoon. One zombie is unleashed into this peaceful scene to attack everyone. In the airport starting to fill up with the undead, the horrific disaster is about to be repeat itself...

We've got early Blu-ray specs and extra features to share which include a nod to Resident Evil 5 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. In addition to a 1.78:1 1080p video transfer and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio, expect the following:

* Interactive Picture-in-Picture (Blu-ray exclusive)
* Trivia Track
* The Making of Resident Evil: Degeneration
* Character Profiles
* Voice Bloopers
* Leon Interview
* Resident Evil: Degeneration Trailer Collection
* Resident Evil: Degeneration Tokyo Game Show Trailer
* Resident Evil 5 Video Game Trailer

It looks like I will be skipping this one based on the description and that trailer.

I just do not like game looking movies myself. Either make people cartoons or have real people is how I see it. I actually liked the first 3 but will pass even on a rental on this one.

Mine too. It was really well done. When/if you get a blu-ray player you should definitely pick this one up. It looks great.

I can sympathize with you on this one but I much prefer this animation style than something like The Clone Wars. That looks horrible imo.

None of the movies were even remotely accurate to the source material FWIW. This ones looks to be the most honest to the Biohazard roots.

I'll definitely be giving it a rent.

SWEET!!! I'll be getting this!!!

If only they made the first movie based on the true RE Storyline. There was NOTHING ever wrong with it.

Looks good to me I'm certainly looking forward to this a lot more than the live action films which are certainly worth a rental but I couldn't see myself watching more than once.

Looks like a worthy rent to me, but just like the new animated Clone Wars movie I don't think I will lay down 7 bucks just to be discouraged.

I agree. I liked the first 3 and would be more interested in a 4th if it had been with real actors and included Milla Jovovich.

x2

part 2 was a bit weak but love the series and love Milla in it.

(never played the games so the fact that the films are not much like the games has never bothered me)

I have played the game's but never wanted to watch any of the live action movie's. I could see myself watching this because it should be able to relate more to the games.

One of the extras is an interview with a videogame character?

I should probably check this out. I thought the first Resident Evil was ok but the rest were crap. You know the movie sucks when even Milla Jovovich can't save it.
