Time Warner earnings fall 36%

APRIL 30 | FROM VARIETY: Time Warner reported earnings of $771 million in the first quarter, down 36% from $1.2 billion a year ago.

Subtracting a one-time gain on the sale of AOL's access business in Germany, profits were in line with the prior year period.

Still to this day, it is totally beyond me why they thought merging with AOL was a good idea. AOL? Really?

So are Time Warner's losses in line with other studios? Could those quarter billion dollar movie budgets finally be coming home to roost?

(I realize Time Warner is more than just a movie studio)

I'd have said their ISP sector has probably been the biggest factor.
