Blu ray titles that are cheaper than the DVD (on amazon)
I've noticed some Blu ray titles are now selling cheaper than their equivalent on DVD.
(These are titles where Blu ray has at least the same features as the DVD). Examples: Bullitt Blu ray 18.95 DVD 23.99 The Searchers Blu ray 18.95 DVD 20.49 Any others that you know about? |

Now is everything in that 2 disc DVD version of Bullitt included in the BD version? I ask because HDD states that it skimps out on some things..

you might be confusing Bullitt with The Getaway... The Getaway on Blu has some extra features that are not on the DVD... |

I got water horse on BD for 16.99 pre order from Amazon. It's more expensive now. I got Dan In Real Life for the same deal.

Oftentimes the DVD version on Amazon, after being released for a while, will go up in price. They don't have a minimum discount off SRP like they do on HDM, and since the MSRPs on the DVD vs. BD usually differ between $5-$10, the DVD can on occasion cost more. It happens more often with slower selling titles. The Adventures of Robin Hood two disc DVD sells for $20.49, for example, while having an SRP of $26.99 ($3 cheaper than the HD DVD version). Pans Labyrinth is another.

That is what commonly happens with all mainstream products. It's the same for CDs, they are often more heavily discounted on release when they are "in" as retailers know more will sell, so can buy more, and get better deals from wholesale. Then when the sales slow down, they creep up to their RRPs as the demand dies down.
