Found another good deal from the discovery channel website.

If you buy the Sunrise Earth HD DVD set for $59.95, you get the Planet Earth HD DVD set for free.

Never heard of Sunrise Earth but seems to be a good deal.

I picked up Elizabeth the Golden age, Happy Feet, Departed & The Invasion...

They do NOT come with the HD DVD red cases So I'll have to pick a few up for them.

Just went to my local Video Gold/Tanning and picked up Blades of Glory, Departed, Face/Off, & Top Gun for $8 a piece. They even came with the original HDdvd cases. He wanted $12 for each and I said well I'll give you $8 and he took it. So I was glad that i went to my local video store just to pick up Devil May Cry4. Start checking your local video stores..these guys really want to get rid of thier HDdvds. Happy Hunting!!!

I should have clarified. Put them both in your cart and proceed to checkout. Before you even start the pay process you will see the price of Planet Earth taken off the total.

Tried it, didn't work. A site linked to on HDD says that the deal was for one day, a day or two ago.

Anyway, I just got Sunrise Earth for thirty bucks off ebay, new, and it wasn't the only one. Get 'em while they're going.

Hmm... that's really weird. When I posted that earlier I double checked it before posting and it worked. It did expire 02/22 sale though,(according to fatwallet.com) so it must just be too late.

Still a good deal for Sunrise Earth though compared to what Discovery is offering them for. Worth it for a blind buy?

Hope so since I've never seen it! It sure sounds awesome from the description. Sounds like something Terrence Malick or Tarkovsky would have done if they were show runners for Discovery HD. :-) Thirty bucks for twelve hours of diverse, interesting nature footage? That's cheaper than most movie MSRPs.

FWIW everybody who talks about it loves it.

Is it much worse for upconverting of DVD? I like the idea of analog out and 1080p capability (I only have A3 now), but the XA2 sounds tempting due to the Reon. Unfortunately I don't think that will ever hit my $200 max price I'm willing to give for it.

Picked up 16 movies at Hollywood video. They were all out of American Gangster, but I did get Blade Runner. All 5 disks for $10, yes please. Also got the Matrix Trilogy. Kid in a candy store. I could care less about having the real cases.

Just went to hollywood video and saw that they are clearing out HD DVD titles. 2 for $20 (previously viewed). I picked up Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers. Good deal. The guy told me that nobody rented those since they got them in. The only crappy part is the cases are standard dvd cases. Found a site that sells HD DVD cases, ordered some. lol

so you guys that found Hollywood's doing this, where are you located? I'm in the Chicago suburbs and checked one a couple of months ago, they said they had no plans to carry HDDVD or Blu-Ray for the time being.

I am so jelous of you lol I want Blade Runner so bad. I just called hollywood video and they said they only have a few HD movies left.. im gonna head over there tommorow.

They also had some titles still rented out. When the titles are returned they go right to the sales rack. They only had 2 copies of American Gangster to be returned. Not good odds of me getting my hands on either copy.
