Personally, I think competition is always good plus, my hungry players will gladly accept new material!

Now that I remember, Toshiba did say they would continue putting the HD DVD drive in laptops, or something along those lines.

Here it is:

Toshiba will "continue to assess the position of notebook PCs with integrated HD DVD drives."

Yeah, format war is definitely over, and that should be good enough for Blu-ray fans and everybody else. To further expect HD DVD to soon be dead is another matter and completely unrelated.

Glad to accept your apology if it means you will stop bringing up old speculation threads, and want to be a NICE contributing member of the forum. The more the merrier, but there is no need to attack. Well reasoned debate is ok, but attacks are not. Better to get a long and have good conversations, than fighting don't you think?

It was in response to someone who made a gloating post. Two wrongs don't make a right, but EVERYONE needs to calm down and try to get along. This site is to help people not to watch bickering when they are looking for a pleasant conversation.

Toshiba is clueless when it comes to HD DVD, folks.

Their support for ANYTHING hd dvd means nothing.
I wish that they'd wash their hands of hd dvd completely and if they have a shred of desire for hd dvd to succeed (HIGHLY unlikely at this point) then they could sell it off to another company with A) balls or B) a freakin' clue.
