OK . . . Last night was Night Fishing Part A . . . total failure.

Nothing worked correctly. Spent two hours of fustration.

TONITE: Night Fishing Part B:

1. Now have battery lighted floats.
2. Dug out one of my scuba diving lights and plan to immerse it about 6 feet down (canal is 12 feet deep)

Stay Tuned . . . .

Why use bobbers? What's the current like in the canal?

The bottom is full of tree limbs so if you throw a hook only - it will get stuck. We did that 2X last night.

We will use a 7 feet "leader" from the bobber to the hotdog.

No current behind the house (canal dead ends) and a small current next to the house. (My house has 2 sides of water. It is at a 'T."

The bobber let's us see if we get any bites.

No, I just don't have a life. LOL. It has rained here in WV everday for the last 8 days so I have been stuck inside. Today is the first day we have seen the sun so hopefully tomorrow I can mow my grass afterwork, if not I'm gonna have to use the tractor and cut it for hay.

JUST as I threw the line in . . . it started raining! (First rain in almost a month!)

Beer - sure - umbrella? Nope. Nor do I have a rain coat.

I am NOT the dedicated angler who sits in the rain and fishes. Not when I can fish every day.

Caught 3 Bass (LM) yesterday. One of them with a bread ball!

Mr. Fisherman of course caught 4.

And we saw a HUGE Grass Carp. This thing had to be at least 25 pounds if not more.

PS: No more rubber worms for me. I have seen the light . . . Rubber Frogs by Ribbit.

I love fishing, I just haven't had time to fish this year like I normally do. This weekend is a 3 day weekend, hopefully me and my son can go a time or two.
