JOKE:

A man bumps into a woman in a hotel lobby and as he does,
his elbow goes into her breast.
They are both quite startled.

The man turns to her and says, "Ma'am, if your heart is as soft as your breast,
I know you'll forgive me."
She replies, "If your penis is as hard as your elbow, I'm in room 221."

Or so I thought . . . . till I saw one get caught . . .

We peaked out at 75 today in Cincy. I had a hectic day too. I took a half day at Clarion to go for a final interview at Pella and damn near turned the AC on. Then they sent me for a physical because they are a VERY safety oriented company. So I was in traffic all day, or sitting at the doctors.

Thank god I won't have to commute all the way to central Kentucky everyday all summer. Pella is only about 6 miles from my house. That's going to save me a ton on petro.

Plus, my coffee always runs out less than halfway to Clarion

Now I'll be chugging just to get the whole thermos down before I get there!

There's also a novel thing at Pella, something I haven't seen in years.....OVERTIME!!!! I'm a sucker for time-and-a-half. Maybe it's because I'm still young, but an 8 hour shift seems like a waste of a drive to me. I like a good 10. I'll be getting 55 hrs at Pella with optional saturdays at double time

No wonder it's ranked so high on Forbes "Best Places to Work". I can't wait. They were amazed at my TIG test, so I've already got the higher ups loving me. They told me I'll walk in and be the best TIG welder they have as soon as I start.

Begin the countdown to 5/5/08!!

(starting to sound like PFC before 4/16 huh? )

Yeah, the ceiling isn't so high, but working for a Japanese owned company only gave me a false sense of future advancement. They run a tight ship, and don't do much in terms of benefits. I'll miss some of the techs there, but I won't miss the "if you aren't Japanese you don't get promoted" motto.

I needed a change of scenery. Shame that all that schooling went to waste. But I did manage to fix my A20 by myself! The poles on the HDMI chip were a bit loose so I checked some readings and determined that if the HDMI wasn't working, the whole player wouldn't work (it left an 'open' in the A/V operational part of the circuit). A few dabs of solder later and she's like new. Before I had to cycle the power on and off to get a picture. Thought I was having a HDMI handshake issue. Wasn't the case.

I've got a pretty penny in savings (literally, most of my investments are in gold), and I'd like to start my own business someday. I'd love to do Geek Squad + kinda thing. I've written up the business model multiple times, and the overhead is rather low.

The concept is to guide the buyer from before the purchase through the installation process. I know a few guys who are really handy with carpentry so we could do some killer mounts and in-wall speaker set-ups. I just need to network out to some calibrators and people who know more about PJ systems.

I think it's a decent model. A lot of people are so confused about this whole HD thing and I think a service where the buyer is questioned about all his needs and what he wants to spend, and then basically holding their hand through the purchase, tutorials, and installation could really take off. There are some really swank neighborhoods in Cincinnati and the people don't seem to know shit from applebutter when it comes to CE.

Just a pipe dream for now though.

What a difference a week makes!

Speaking of fishing . . .

"Mr. Fisherman" comes running over to the back of my house by the Florida Room, yelling; "Dad - quick - get me a knife!"

So I run to the kitchen, grab a steak knife, than run to the Florida Room and see him holding this HUGE fish! It is 3 feet long! " WTF is that?"

"It's a Snakehead Fish!" I have to kill it! I am not supposed to put them back (he is correct)."

So he drives the knife through it's head and blood spurts out and . . . . yuk! So now I am thinking . . . WTF am I going to do with this thing? It stinks to high heaven!.

So I grab a plastic garbage bag - 13 gallon Kitchen size . . . the fish has to be bent in half to fit! . . . tie it up and it is now sitting in the street waiting for the rest of my garbage which will join it tomorrow.

Hope we don't have any wild cats or racoons around tonite.

Well it's a 90 minute commute for me on a good day. Nothing wrong with Kentucky other then the sports teams, bars, people, restaurants and drivers. Other then that, it's fine.

Joey82083 and his family are the exception to the rule.
