been steaming hot down here too! Been in the upper nineties for the past week and 1/2,,,,and not expected to cool down one bit. Oh well,,,what we cannot remedy,,,we just drink more beer. Not a good sign when the mater plants start sagging more than the peter.

We are not to the wilting stage as we still have plenty of soil moisture. A few more days of mid 90's and that will be zapped.

You guys are in that damned if ya do and damned if ya don't stage. To wet to get planting, and when ya do get planting, you'll need some serious discs to cut the crust. Me good farmer friends in North Dakota have nothing but water water every where and not a fish to catch. This weather pattern is much the same as 1971-72 as far as moisture,,,but not the heat.

You got it right Obli. Though, we've been pretty lucky here at home. Most planting is done, some is damaged, much looks good. There for a while, we would plant, then we would get an inch of rain in 15 minutes. Not good for emergence as you know. Yep, some fields have a serious crust, recently planted stuff is in fluffy dirt waiting for half inch of rain.

Amazing! You are mid 70's and we are mid 90's. Humidity is an issue right now. Heat index was 102 today. A little odd for us for this time of year.

My wife has been in southern Florida on business since last Sunday. Her flight was this afternoon....I was a bit nervous cause weather is pretty shitty in Chicago. Sure enough, her flight left on time, yet was 1.5 hours late. I just looked it up on the web. Thank God it says "Arrived". I was pretty nervous. I'm guessing since it left on time and was that late..... uh..... probably tried to fly around the nasty shit.
