I know! Kinda freaked me out when I first found out... I will have to check & see for sure, but I think it was built in 1770 or the 1760's~

It's a VERY cool house. It was a "house of prostitution" back during the Revolutionary war~

It's funny, but one thing I remember about the house that impressed me from being out there last year, was that my Uncle told me that it has never been re-roofed!!

Can you imagine?!?!? ...and no leaks!!

Wow, talk about old skool! Thats very kewl GW.

There are still Free Mason tunnels built under the town of Lexington in Ma. It was part of the underground railroad. If they built stuff like they did back then, the big dig tunnel would not have collapsed, and killed a lady.

That makes more sense than wood for them to last that long. You don't have to bother going through the trouble of finding/posting it. Thanks for asking though.

Hard to imagine these houses made today lasting as long as the old houses though.

That's for sure... It was really cool being out there to visit them. It just feels like history is all around you there! It's funny, for being such a MICRO-MINI State like that, my relatives all have HUGE yards/lots. Plus, they actually live in Lincoln, RI, and it's almost rural really. There are so many trees, and the houses aren't aren't all crowded together.

Walking out back from my Uncles, you start going through all this brush, & some trees, till you come to an OLD stone wall. Aparently, the whole area is criss-crossed with these old stone walls, built around the time of the American Revolution and earlier. They are just stones piled on top of each other with no morter, and I would say they are about 3-4 feet high or so.

Anyway, all the time we were there, I kept imagining that I would find some old coin or button or some sort of relic from the past. Just an absolutely COOL place! I'm sure it's even more awesome in the fall when the leaves turn~
