Excellent. Give me the scoop on how the sound is. On the standard dvd on my surround the sound was mostly just roaring.

I've eaten things from the river, but haven't in a couple years.. Hard to pass up some nice 18-22 inch walleye though.
I've looked at the charts for eating fish caught out of the rivers here in WV and its kinda scary. The only fish I eat that I catch are a bass or two that I catch out of farm ponds. I don't eat them very often though.

Junkie, I've tried you tips for baitcasting and have come to the conclusion that I really suck at it.

It takes practice man. Best thing to do is stand in the back yard and just keep practicing. Also make sure you adjust the weight control on the side of the reel and adjust the backlash control to the highest setting until you get good. Trying to cast something small like a little rooster tail with a baitcaster is extremely hard. If I try to cast something small like that I usually end up putting a slip shot about a foot above the lure. Don't give up on it, it just takes practice. Once you master it, you won't want to use any other type of reel.

Go to YouTube and type in "baitcasting" - there are a bunch of great home made videos on getting the dreaded birds nest freed quickly.

Mr. Fisherman can do it in less than 20 seconds now.

Also here are a couple of links that sure helped him:

Yeah, first time I casted I had the worst birds nest I've ever experienced. Had to cut over 3/4 of my line off. Went to youtube after that and checked out a few of the videos. Now I can successfully cast about 5-10 yrds. Anything over that and I get a birds nest. On the bright side, I'm getting pretty good at removing them.

I'll give it a look. I usually spend more time picking birds nest out of my sons reel for him than I get to fish. I have to admit though that he is getting better. I usually get one good backlash a year that I can't pick out and it is usually because of carelessness.

I'm not understanding the backlash part. I have the release set up where my weight slowly drops to the ground when it's released. I go to cast it and it just doesn't go anywhere. I've tried different gear ratios, although, correct me if I'm wrong, I believe that only affects how quickly the line is pulled back in.

The best thing to do is to make sure the weight adjustment is right. Start off by pressing the button to release the line then adjust the control so that the line stops free falling. When you get good then you can adjust the control so the line free falls slowly. Then you will get longer casts. One other question Joey how long is your fishing pole??
