Probably not, of the stand alone players the Panny 1.1 profile player is the only one with good load times on all titles.

I'm not home right now.

This sounds too good in the firmware instructions.

"NOTE: It takes about 90 seconds for the player to display pictures on the television when the player is powered on for the first time after installing the update."

Is that the first time you boot up or every time? My HD-A3 takes 30 sec and that pisses me off. I didn't know they took that long.

The S300 is notorious for long load times.

Other than that, it is a good player.

I have loaded the FW 3.7 and have no problems with it. As I have posted on your thread in the Blu-Ray player section, I highly recommend you load the 3.7 FW. This will reduce playback issues.
As noted in a prior post, the S300 is known for slow load times, but other than that it is a solid dependable player. It may not have HD decoders, but DD and DD DTS sound great!

The disk I burned didn't work, it said can not play disk on the front display, then it just said data disk and didn't move.
Should just wait for Sony to send me the disk.

No. You can't use CD-RWs. It says so on the website you downloaded it from. You need a regular CD-R. They work fine.

Did you burn it AS AN IMAGE? You cannot just burn it like any other data and MUST burn it AS AN IMAGE using the command to do this in your burning software.
