Just bought several HD DVDs

Yes. I Bought Batman Begins last week and it looks VERY VERY nice in HDDVD. I had only been used to the SD DVD version and seeing that was a very pleasant experience.

I have to say in general these HD films do an amazing job at their layer switches whenever they're happening. I can't even see it! Anyone else notice any HDM layer switching? Some DVDs have TERRIBLE spots for layer switches.

HD DVD is much better than the DVD, but it´s a bit of an under par HD DVD concering the pq (level of detail is rather low and edge enhancement halos are prominent, if you are bothered by that). But it´s still the best presentation of "the Dude", so highly recommended!

You SHOULD watch Pitch Black before watching Chronicles of Riddick IMO. It makes COR make more sense.

I liked The Kingdom. Did you see my review in the reveiws section? I also liked Eastern Promises which came out the same day...

The movie is quite good. It's politcal and violent but it also reminded me of the scenery from when I was in Saudi.

The Big Lebowski has such a following that there is a Lebowskifest held in various cities every year. They have bowling tournaments and Look-Alike contests among other things. One of the best comedies ever, IMO.
My latest purchase was Blade Runner in HD DVD. At $37 for 5 discs I consider it a bargain. Only watched the Final Cut so far. PQ is awesome.

Personally, I liked Pitch Black way more than the Chronicles of Riddick. (although I haven't seen either of them in HD).
Riddick was to sci fi for me, P.Black was more horror.

IMO, The Kingdom is well worth watching and owning. I've seen it once on my own and shown it twice so far to others.
