First of all, I don't know what the blu-boys snort, but it's gotta be pretty good

PCM is what the master is in. No zip needed.

The Replacement Killers, BD25, stellar PQ, LPCM!

No need to pay Dolby or DTS to license the codec for release!
May have been a small factor in some studios choosing Blu.

Not sure what they charge, but even penny counts when sold in volume.

Not to mention that dial-norm is still used in TrueHD

Look man, Dolby TrueHD/DTS-MA is as lossless as PCM.
Why not use those two formats and instead use PCM which is a waste of bandwidth or space?
And by the way, they don't pay Dolby when they use those formats on their releases; player makers have to pay Dolby and DTS.
And by the way, they have to include a 5.1 Dolby Digital track or DTS 5.1 track for those with optical output anyway; so your point is moot!

And since you have it against Dolby TrueHD (and Sony doesn't use dial norm on their releases) then why not DTS-MA?
Do you mean DTS/Dolby lie when they say their formats are lossless?
and imagine you have to upload a 100MB file to your web space; would you rather zip it to 25MB to save space and bandwidth or would u rather use 100MB?
And why not use MPEG2 and give it super high bitrate to get the same quality as AVC and VC1 (we do have reference quality MPEG2 releases)? According to your point, it doesn't matter to waste bandwidth and space.

I like debating with you and it's fun (and with format war lots of thrills are gone ) but lets debate real stuff not useless topics.

This is what bugs me with Blu-ray. The greed is so strong they seem to do everything they can to avoid paying any royalties to anybody even if it means the release is less consumer freindly. It's a rediculous policy. I really loath greed!
