Why on earth are you getting so pissed off? Are you saying it's O.K. for somebody to create a BullShit Topic about HD DVD? But GOD forbid somebody posts something negative about Blu-Ray? I think you need SLEEP, and don't take Blu-Ray/HD DVD so personal O.K.

Sorry super but I'm with Jimmy here. Pointless rant. Same can be said about HD DVD.. That is if you can find someone who has a bad experience with HD DVD and way too much time on their hands.

same here. Some dude ranting on a pointess blog. What piqued me curiosity is that in his first couple of paragraphs, he mentions the great "firmware update scam". Don't HD DVD players require f/w updates?

Well, I guess to be fair, I have an even longer and more torturous rant about my experiences getting high-def discs to play on my HTPC. The only difference is, my machine works.

The difference is because you be a member of the HD FORUM and have gleaned valuable insight as to how to make things work. Plus, we believe you.

But, like I said, unlike the OP, my machine works.

If HD DVD sales can double each year for the next several years, HD DVD might sell quantities comparable to Beta. I don't think it will ever happen, HD DVD will be a niche format with no chance of ever selling quantities comparable to Beta which lasted over 20 years, with many million VCR's sold and tens of millions of software units sold and over 100 million blank tapes sold worldwide. It is likely correct to assume that HD DVD will never be the next Beta, it can't do anywhere near that well.

Everytime I see Chris' name I just laugh.
Your posts have become jokes, my friend. Of course you won't understand that, but trust me it's true.

Sorry, but if the guy in the rant can't even figure out how to FF through the previews on Cars, he has a much bigger problem than not being able to get his player to operate. What a douche.

A joke is the group here that sees the pathetic HD DVD sales as anything other than what it means and that is worldwide the format has already failed. Only the couple hundred that rally here with nonsense about how some secret plan exists to make HD DVD successful and how that plan is always on the horizon can't see the obvious. It is low priced players, then it is DVD/HD DVD dual format discs, then it is low priced players again, then it is dual format players, Blu-ray/HD DVD that will propel HD DVD to success. Do you believe any figures I stated in my post intended to be humorous are false? Do you believe HD DVD has any chance whatsoever to sell as well as Beta? I don't know what Blu-ray will do yet, but tiny niche status or worse is all that HD DVD can do. Chris |
